Samuel Butler Narrative - Graphic Novel Project

This is an illustration project of designing and creating a short graphic novel that will be used to advertise the 'Dawn of the Unread' campaign, which promotes awareness towards  local history and supporting libraries that are suffering a decline as well as highlighting a decline in literacy skills within young people. The campaign creates short graphic novels based upon historical figures in the Nottinghamshire area and narrates their history though comic book themes that would appeal to young people.

For my graphic novel design, the historical figure that I have chosen to narrate is Samuel Butler, author of Erewhon. The visual theme that I have chosen to use for this novel is victorian, industrial & steampunk because they were highly cultural at the time of Butler's life as an author so I adopted it into the novel to illustrate the historical time era to viewers.

Unfortunately I was unsuccessful in fully creating the novel as I originally have planned due to mistiming with time management, but however I will present the pages that I have made and use these as sources of inspiration towards my future projects that involve graphic narratives.
